Some women and their men

 Asemblea de la Cooperativa
This is sort of a perception test, I guess. Do women look the same when they are together with their men, and when they are alone?
It caught my attention when I was cropping these photos of farmers from Terrabona. I was suprised how different I perceived the women when they were alone, and when I saw them with their men. Have my eyes really adapted that much to the machista society I live in?

Look at the peasant woman with her husband above. And then alone, at the bottom. Am I the only one who seeing a difference?

Well, have I exposed the hidden sexist in us all, or just in myself?

  1. Maybe you have discovered the sexist that goes past the surface barrier?

You know the people. you know this the daily life of most Nicaraguan women. But you also know that without these women the men would also “not be in the picture”……

The press also “depicts” inequalities, but what do we actually do about them?

Your “picture question” is a good personal challenge…..mb
